Two hundred and eighty lights float above the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs. Invisibly suspended, each light hovers over the water, its height mirroring the depth of water below. Like stellar pinpoints, they create long sweeping constellations stretching through the valleys. These constellations invertedly echo the shape of the valley bottom beneath the water. On a still night, their watery reflection precisely draws the lost river systems of the Upper Derwent valley.

A proposal for the Upper Derwent reservoirs.
